This week's edition of 10x Your Mind is a mini one—I’m spending time with my folks back home in India. Along with meeting my parents and my brother’s baby boy for the first time, I’m also reuniting with my sister and her 6-year-old after three whole years! As I soak in the joy of this family reunion, my heart warms every time I see my kids—17 and 13—bond with their younger cousins. It’s wonderfully recharging—and a good reminder of how important it is to spend time on things that fill you up.
I hope you’re spending your week mostly on things that energize you—and less on tasks that drain you. And if that balance feels off, here’s a mental tool to help:
Effort vs. Energy Audit
Not all tasks are created equal—some drain you, others energize you. This tool helps you audit where your effort goes and how it affects your mental state, so you can rebalance your workload for better well-being.
List your regular tasks.
Rate the effort each takes.
Note if it fuels or depletes you.
Look for imbalances. If you see too many high-effort, energy-draining tasks—
Can you shift them to another time?
Can you delegate them?
Or rethink how you approach them?
As always, here are some examples to make more sense:
This mini audit helps you reclaim your energy and protect your joy.
Work and life feel better when your effort goes into things that also fill you up.
Until next time ❤️
