Something new
I'm keeping this one short because I’m on holiday with my family in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It wasn’t a planned trip—just a spur-of-the-moment decision while we were in the middle of moving houses back home in Singapore. We thought, why not make the best of the chaos and take a break in this beautiful neighboring country? And I’m so glad we did.
From the iconic Petronas Towers to the bustling city that never seems to sleep, from the warm hospitality of its people to the laid-back vibes, Malaysia has been an absolute delight. And let’s not forget—it’s a food lover’s paradise.
Being a vegetarian, I rarely get to try unconventional food because most cuisines don’t cater much to plant-based options. But this trip surprised me. On the insistence of friends, I ventured out of my comfort zone and tried a hotpot. They promised me there’d be plenty of vegetarian options, and they were absolutely right.
The steaming soups, endless selection of veggies, and the explosion of flavors in the sauces had my taste buds doing a happy dance. I’m so proud of myself for stepping out of my usual boundaries.
So, as this year comes to a close, here’s a tiny but powerful reminder: try something new. Take that small leap and set the stage for an adventurous, open-minded year ahead.
